The Sony 35mm 1.4 G Master FE Lens offers next-level advanced technology in a small, compact body for E-mount bodies. Offering a large F1.4 aperture and 35mm focal length, this lens is the ideal choice for photographic applications where a balance of incredible image quality and efficient handling is needed. Featuring XD Linear Motors for high-speed, smooth focusing, an impressive optical design, and the ability to achieve luscious bokeh with G Master quality.  

High-speed Autofocus Sony have incorporated XD Linear Motors to drive a high-speed, precise autofocus and tracking operation, whilst also making full use of the AF performance in Sony E-mount bodies to capture the perfect moment. The quiet operation of the AF system is beneficial for capturing stills as well as recording movies with enhanced audio. Switch instantly between auto and manual focus using the focus mode switch, which is an advantage for making fine manual adjustments when necessary. The Linear Response MF ensures that the focus ring is responsive for subtle control when using manual focus.

Reducing Optical Aberrations The Sony 35mm lens is constructed of 10 groups and 14 elements, including two XA (eXtreme aspherical) lens elements [1] and a single ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element [2]. The XA elements supress sagittal coma flare and onion ring bokeh to ensure sharpness and clarity is achieved across the frame, and the ED glass element reduces chromatic aberration and purple fringing. The strategic arrangement of the elements ensures optimum use of their technology so the highest quality can be reached in any shooting situation.

Combatting Ghosting and Flare Featuring Sony’s new Nano AR Coating II that is evenly applied to the entire element surfaces to suppress internal reflections and prevent ghosting and flare when working in difficult light, such as backlighting – images remain crisp and clear across the frame.

Shooting Capabilities   Get close to the subject and capture stunning detail thanks to the minimum focusing distance of just 27cm and maximum magnification of 0.23x. Paired with the bright F1.4 11-blade circular aperture mechanism, the lens delivers G Master quality and lusciously smooth background bokeh – giving the user plenty of control over shooting striking stills and movies.
